Wie in jedem Jahr zum ersten Wochenende im September fand in den Waeldern des Parc de Garraf, oberhalb des Nobel-Badeortes Sitges die FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC statt. Organisatoren sind der Jagdverband Sitges und der Spanische Podenco Ibicenco Club. Hier treffen sich die Jaeger und Züchter der Rasse und viele Podenco-Freunde aus aller Welt. Die geografisch guenstige Lage, ca. 50 Kilometer unterhalb von Barcelona und das schoene Ambiente mitten im Nationalpark - zusammen mit der Möglichkeit ca. 200 Podenco Ibicenco aus der Nähe betrachten zu koennen - lassen die Besucherzahlen von Jahr zu Jahr steigen. Schien es auch diesmal am Samstag noch etwas ruhiger zuzugehen als im letzten Jahr (die WindhundWelt berichtete), so war der Andrang am Sonntag um so grösser. Samstag ist der Tag der Jäger. Es werden Wettbewerbe in der Jagd mit Podenco-Meuten ausgetragen. Besonders Publikumswirksam, weil die Zuschauer von bestimmten Plätzen aus, von denen man einen guten Ueberblick ueber das verwachsene Gelaende hat, dem Einsatz der Meuten zusehen koennen. Vom Aussetzender Kaninchen (damit jede Meute die gleichen Chancen hat) ueber das gute Zusammenspiel der Podencos bei der Suche, bis hin zum Ergreifen der Beute und Apportieren der Kanin-chen zum Jäger. Dies alles wurde nach einem Punktesystem bewertet und am Sonntag mit Pokalen und Urkunden bedacht. Den groessten Pokal erhielt der Vorsitzende vom Jagdverband - ob er auch der Gewinner war, konnten wir nicht so genau hinterfragen. Paralell zur Siegerehrung der Jaeger lief naemlich am Sonntag die VI. MONOGRAFICA DEL PODENCO IBICENCO, eine CAC-Schau zu der 54 Hunde gemeldet waren. Dies ist eine stolze Meldezahl fuer Spanien, ein Land, in dem das Ausstellungswesen noch weit hinter dem gesamteuropaeischen Standard zuruecksteht. Zum Vergleich: Auf der Weltsieger-Show in Amsterdam standen insgesamt nur 14 Podenco Ibicenco im Ring. Die Siegerin war jedoch bei beiden Shows die gleiche: Faria de Can poca Roba erhielt in Sitges das BIS (auf der Weltsiegershow hatte sie sich noch mit dem BOS begnŸgen mŸssen). Etwas "spanisch" erschien einem als internationaler Aussteller jedoch die Art des Richtens, die D. Agusti Tonieti Ferrero an den Tag legte. Er lie§ die gesamte Championklasse eine Runde zusammen mit Faria laufen, erklaerte sie zur Gewinnerin und schickte alle anderen Champions mit einem unplatzierten V aus dem Ring. Alle vergebenen Pokale blieben natuerlich wohlbehuetet in spanischem Besitz. Dennoch lohnt es sich immer wieder, die FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC zu besuchen, die Entwicklung der Zucht und die Bewegung der Podencos in ihrem Terrain zu beobachten. Same procedure like every year at the first weekend in september. In the woods of Parc de Garraf, a few miles from the nobel beach-town Sitges, the FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC was celebrated. Organized by the Hunting Association of Sitges and the Spanish Ibizan Hound Club it is a yearly meeting of hunters and breeders of Ibizan Hounds from all over the world. The geografical position, 30 miles down from Barcelona and the beautiful sur-roundment of the National parc Ð together with the ability watching more than 200 Ibizan Hounds at one event Ð makes this more and more famous year by year. On Saturday it seems to be a little bit less action than last year (see WindhundWelt report 2001) but for this on sunday it was much much more. Saturday in the day of the hunters. They fight out hunting games with groups of Ibizan Hounds. Very interesting for the visitors, cause they can watch the games from viewing points, from where they can watch the working of the hounds. From bringing out the rabbits (that every group should have the same chance) over the teamwork of the Ibizan Hounds while seeking until catching and apporting the rabbits to the hunter. They got points for that work and on sunday they got honoured by prices and cups Ð the biggest was given to the president of the Hunting Association of Sitges, but we did not know, if he was the winner and we do not find the time to ask for this. At the same time on sunday they startet judging the VI. MONOGRAFICA DEL PODENCO IBICENCO, a CAC-Show with 54 entrees. This are a lot entrees for a country like Spain, where Dog-Shows have not the same high standard range like in the rest of Europe. For example: On the World-Show at Amsterdam have been only 14 entrees in the ring. But the winner of both shows was the same: Faria de Can poca Roba won BIS at Sitges (on the World-Show she had won BOS). A little bit "spanish" was the style of judging for the international exhibitors, the judge D. Agusti Tonieti Ferrero did. He started judging the Champion class, let them all run arround one time all together with Faria. Than he says, that she is the winner and gave an unplaced EXC. for all the others. All prices and cups stayed save in Spain. But still it is worth to visit the FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC year by year, watching the breeding results and the movement of the Ibizan Hounds in their own terrain. BO Continue WindhundWelt 3'2002

Como cada año tuvo lugar durante el primer fin de semana de septiembre la FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC, en los bosques del Parc de Garraf, arriba del noble balneario Sitges. Los organizadores pertenecen a la Asociacion de Caza de Sitges y al Club del Podenco Ibicenco Espanol. Aquí se encuentran los cazadores y criadores de esta raza y muchos amigos del Podenco procedentes de todo el mundo. La buena situación geografica, aprox. a 50 Kilometros del sur de Barcelona y el encanto del ambiente que se respira en mitad del Parque Nacional, ase como la posibilidad de poder observar de cerca a unos 200 Podencos Ibicencos, hacen que el número de visitantes aumente de año en año. Aunque este Sábado parecio ser algo mas tranquilo que en el pasado ano (segun informaba la revista WindhundWelt 3-2001), el Domingo resulto ser la afluencia mucho mayor. El Sábado es el día del cazador. Se celebran campeonatos de caza con grupos de Podencos. Este acto atrae a mucho público, ya que los espectadores que tienen buenas vistas al terreno, pueden ver a estos perros en accion. Desde la caza del conejo (para que cada jaurua de perros tenga la misma oportunidad) hasta la buena coordinacion de los Podencos en la busqueda, aso como la captura de la presa y llevar el conejo al cazador. Todo esto fue valorado segun un sistema de puntos y premiado el Domingo con trofeos y certificados. El mayor trofeo lo obtuvo el Presidente de la Asociación de Caza, aunque no pudimos comprobar exactamente que Žste fuera realmente el ganador. Paralelamente a la entrega de trofeos de cazadores, se celebro la VI. MONOGRAFICA DEL PODENCO IBICENCO, una Muestra-CAC a la que se haban inscrito 54 perros. Este número de inscripciones es una muy buena cifra para Espana, un pais que esta muy por detres de la media europea en materia de Muestras Caninas. Para comparar: en el Campeonato del Mundo en Amsterdam estuvieron en el Ring tan solo 14 Podencos Ibicencos. La vencedora en ambas Muestras Caninas fue la misma: Faria de Can poco Roba obtuvo en Sitges el BIS (en el Campeonato del Mundo tuvo que conformarse con el BOS). Algo extraoo sin embargo, le parecia a uno para una Muestra Internacional, la forma juzgar que tuvo el D. Agusti Tonieti Ferrero en ese día. Éste dejo correr una vuelta a la completa Clase de Campeones junto con Faria, la declaro vencedora, y mando a todos los Campeones fuera del Ring con una calificacion general de EXC sin efectuar gradacion alguna. Todos los trofeos adjudicados fueron a parar naturalmente bien cuidados a manos espanolas. No obstante, merece la pena cada vez visitar la FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC y observar el desarrollo de la Cria y el Movimiento de los Podencos en su terreno. BO Continue WindhundWelt 3'2002
